Roger Wilde is president of Anacapa Accountancy Corporation and it’s division Anacapa Valuations that provides business valuations and consulting for clients, attorneys, and certified public accountants.
Roger has testified as an expert in valuation of a real estate holding company in the United States Tax Court. His methodology in determining the marketability discount from this case has been reported in the appraisal literature as an alternative for controlling interests in holding corporations. He has appeared in appeal meetings before the Internal Revenue Service. He has testified before the United States Bankruptcy Court (Wyoming). He has also served as an expert in a variety of family law matters for the Superior Court in the Counties of Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo, California. He served as an expert in arbitration and mediation matters for family law, oppressed shareholder actions, a Corporate 2000 action, and commercial damages litigation. As a designated expert, he has assisted attorneys in negotiating property settlements with valuations of various companies. He has also been retained as a joint expert.
Roger is accredited in business valuation (ABV) by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (since 1998) and is a certified public accountant licensed by the State of California (since 1985). He is also certified in financial forensics (CFF) since 2008. He has prepared business valuations for a variety of purposes including estate and gift valuations, buy-sell transactions, stock options, and property settlements in divorce matters.
Roger has valued numerous businesses including real estate and timberland holding companies, property managers, contractors, manufacturers, printers, distributors, retailers, restaurants, wineries, food processors, ranches, vineyards, medical and environmental laboratories, residential health care facilities, surgical centers, and various service providers. In addition, he has valued professional practices for physicians, chiropractors, optometrists, engineers, accountants, an investment banker, and a custom farmer. Roger has prepared agricultural asset allocations for farm (or vineyard) acquisitions. He has also provided compensation studies for valuations and business executives, trustees and management companies.
Roger has been a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) since 1985. He is a member of the California Society of CPAs (CalCPA), its State Litigation Steering Committee and its Business Valuation Section. In 1996, Roger completed the AICPA Certificate of Education Achievement in Business Valuation. Roger completed the Pepperdine University Certificate in Private Capital Markets in May 2014. In addition, Roger attends AICPA and CalCPA valuation and family law conferences and continuing education seminars annually.
